Planning is underway for the 19th Annual TRI-IT Triathlon. We are in search of TRI-IT Committee members to help plan this fun family event.
Committee Members are needed for the following positions:
Route Captains : Captains will help plan the routes, safety plans and volunteers for each of the following positions:
Swim Captain- oversee the swim portion of the race for all age categories
Youth Bike Captain- oversee the youth bike portion of the race
Youth Run Captain- oversee the youth run portion of the race
Adult Bike Captain- oversee the bike portion of the race for adult, classic & relay team participants
Adult Run Captain- oversee the run portion of the race for adult, classic & relay team participants
Transition Captain- oversee the safety of participants, volunteers and equipment in the bike transition area
Finish line Captain- oversee the finish line activities including dispursment of finishing medals, announcements, draw prize awards
Registration Captain- oversee the race package pick-up, timing chips, participant check-in prior to races
Sponsorship Captain- seek out corporate and individual sponsorship for the event including
- cash and in-kind donations for event supplies, equipment
- draw prize donations
Route Captains must be available during the actual event (June 9, 2019) for the duration of the entire event as well as set-up & clean up (5am - 1pm)
Committee Members will meet monthly from February - June to plan and organize the event. Meetings will likely be evening hours and will be kept to a short duration (2hrs).
Meeting times will be set up based on the availability of the Majority of the Committee.

Whether you are a beginner attempting a Triathlon for the first time or a seasoned Triathlete looking for extra motivation and training tips- this program is for you! Work with a certified Triathlon coach to build endurance in all 3 sports (swimming, biking, running), learn overall strategy and improve your swimming techniques and stroke efficiency.

We need your help! The TRI-IT Triathlon relies heavily on the support of volunteers to ensure this is a fun and safe event for all. Race day duties include:
- set up & clean up crew
- timing crew
- course marshalls
- registration, body marking, package pick up
- finish line greeters
- transition area monitors
- general information
All volunteers will receive water, snacks and be entered in to win fabulous draw prizes!

For 19 years the City of Langley TRI-IT Triathlon has been proud to be an inclusive, community-based race open to all! We believe that participation in sport has tremendous health, mental and social benefits for all - especially our youth. The TRI-IT Committee believes that no child should be left on the side-lines which is why all net proceeds of the TRI-IT Triathlon will be donated to KidSport Langley. Help us give the gift of sport to our local kids by sponsoring the 2019 TRI-IT Triathlon.
