Langley Senior Resources Society (LSRS)

 

The Langley Senior Resources Society (LSRS) is an independent, not-for-profit organization and registered charity that has been providing social, recreational, and educational programs and food, health, and services to adults 50 years of age and older in the City and Township of Langley since 1982. 

Langley City has a large population of seniors with a variety of housing and care options available in the community. Langley Seniors Recreation & Resource Centre provides a wide range of activities and supports services.

For Active Adults:

You will be pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of activities that are available. For the more active members, there are keep-fit classes including Tai-Chi, Yoga, and line dancing, or...how about a brisk stroll with the walking club along the Nicomekl Nature Trail?

There are travel opportunities including boat cruises, overnight bus trips, or into the big city for a theatre production.

Group activities include:

  • handbell choir
  • theatre club
  • choir
  • friendship club
  • an evening out for dinner with the gourmet club

There are numerous educational programs including:

  • health seminars
  • estate planning
  • our very popular computer club

For an even more active role, you can sign up with our volunteer program, serve on committees or, assist with any of the special events held throughout the year.

For the Less Active:

For seniors experiencing isolation, outreach volunteers provide transportation, shopping assistance, minor home repairs and regular telephone contact.

Specialized care and support services are available for adults with physical and/or mental challenges who live alone or with family caregivers.

Additional services, at the Adult Day Centre, include caregiver support, therapeutic bathing, and social contact. A carefully planned social and recreational program is also provided.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday -- 9 am to 4 pm
Thursday -- 9 am to 9 pm
Saturday -- 9 am to 3 pm

Tuk Shop Hours
10 am to 2 pm

Meeting someone for Lunch?

Our cafeteria-style dining room serves quick, economical, and nutritious meals.

Cafeteria Hours:

Lunch: Monday to Saturday 11:30 am to 1 pm
Saturday Breakfast: 9 am to 11 am
Dinner: Thursdays at 5 pm (Tickets for Thursday's dinner must be purchased at the front desk by Tuesday of that week.)

As a charitable and privately funded organization, the society relies on revenue from membership fees, fundraising events, government grants, and corporate and individual contributions.

The Centre is administered by the Board of Directors of the Langley Senior Resources Society.

Langley Seniors Community Action Table (LSCAT)

 

The City of Langley is pleased to be a partner with the Langley Seniors Community Action Table (LSCAT) to strategize and implement initiatives for Seniors in our community.  The Langley Seniors Community Action Table is looking for new members to join this action-orientated committee.  Committee members will work together to identify and strategize action plans for a variety of issues affecting Seniors in our community.
