JULY PROGRAMS UPDATE - All current programs are extended to July 24th.

Outdoor Youth Programs at Douglas Park! 

We will continue to offer outdoor programming during the month of July for youth in Langley City. These programs will take place outdoor at Douglas Park and are dependent on the weather. These programs have additional physical distancing and hygiene measures that will be observed and follow to ensure the safety of all participants during programs. Please see the July programs sections below for more information on each program. 

 

 

Indoor programs will not be resuming at this time.  

As per the March 16th Covid-19 update released by the City of Langley, Timms CommunityCenter will be closed until further notice. Please check back for regular updates on youth programming.

 

Youth Programs - July 2nd to July 24th

Free for all youth! No pass required

From July 2nd to July 24th we will continue to offer programs outdoors. In addition to changes in times and days of existing outdoor programs, we will be adding new summer programs as well! See below for information on each specific program. 

All current programs are extended up to July 25th. Check back for updated on programming for the remainder of July

Weekly Challenges

Free for all youth! No pass required

Test all your various skills each week with our weekly challenge! Challenges range from balancing, to paper airplanes and more! Win prizes and have fun challenging your each other!

Summer Swim

Free for all youth! No pass required

Cool off and escape the summer heat at Al Anderson Pool! Walk over with Timms staff and go for a swim, play some water games and have some fun! 

Please note that Al Anderson Memorial Pool swim times during this program are 1:00pm-2:30pm and 3:00pm-4:30pm and youth drop in may not be able to access both times due to restriction on the number of patrons. Games and other activities will be planned in the event that the group must wait to access the pool.

Art in the Park

Free for all youth! No pass required

We are taking art outdoors. Let the outdoors inspire you to draw, paint and create wonderful pieces of art!

Outsiders

Free for all youth! No pass required

Enjoy some fun in the sun! Meet up with Timms youth staff and head over to Douglas park to play various sports and games outside! Soccer, hockey, basketball, capture the flag and more are all part of the plan.

Teen Time

Free for all youth! No pass required

Teen Time is back and better than ever! Hang out with your friends and do all the regular fun activities we do inside, outside! Make crafts, play games and have fun.

City Explorers

Free for all youth! No pass required

If you have ever wondered what there is to do in Langley and how to get there, this is the program for you! City explorers will travel around Langley and explore its outdoor parks and activities! Each week we will be walking to a different park in Langley to explore its offering and nature. We also have other activities such as the Langley Mural Walk, scavenger hunts, sports games and more!

Outdoor Sports

Free for all youth! No pass required

Run, jump, sprint, shoot and wack with this outdoor sports drop in! We will be offering use of our outdoor sports spaces at Douglas Park for drop in sports. Play basketball, tennis, hockey, badminton, soccer and more with the fresh air to energize you.

YOUTH ONLY! The Timms games room is closed to the public and give the youth an opportunity to come and hang out with their friends for the night! Come join in our games, tournaments, group cooking and dinners, crafts, and much more! Or just come in and play some pool or video games with your buddies!

Attention H.D. Stafford Middle School Students! Come check out our FREE After 3 program that happens each week AT YOUR SCHOOL! We offer something for everyone -- games, sports, cooking, crafts, and sometimes, just getting crazy and noisy.

Starting Thursday January 16 2020!

Babysitter Training (11-16yrs)

BABYSITTER TRAINING (12-17yrs)- COED

Developed by the Canadian Safety Council, this course teaches the most up to date information concerning childcare and safety.  Course content includes:  basic first-aid, emergency procedures, safety, nutrition and responsibilities.  Learn tons of fun games and activities making you the most popular babysitter on the block!  Price includes manual and certificate (upon completion of the program).

Teen Pump (13-16yrs)

Teen Pump (13-16yrs)

Learn the safe and effective techniques in Weight Training for teens.  With proper guidance, youth will learn how to build strength, define their muscles and prevent injuries while using a variety of strength and cardio equipment.  Each participant will receive an individualized training plan based on their individual goals.  Youth who successfully complete the Teen Pump program will be permitted into the Timms Community Centre Weight Room without adult supervision.
